CEF welcomes David and Rosemary Edwards as the new national directors of Ireland. Their first contact with CEF was as members of a summer outreach team to Limerick in the Republic of Ireland. There they were challenged about beginning a Good News Club in their home in Belfast. They were so encouraged to have between 40 and 50 children attend regularly that it wasn’t long before they became more involved in local CEF as members of the committee.
God was clearly leading and guiding them in children’s ministry and in September 1988 David began a one-year full-time course at Belfast Bible College, and in the summer of 1989 they attended CMLC in Kilchzimmer. After training in Northern Ireland, God led the Edwards to Waterford with their three daughters, Julie, Caron and Sarah in March 1992, as local workers.
For just over nine years they conducted a full CEF program there and then in 2001, at the request of the mission, they moved to work in the Greater Dublin area. They then took up the position of assistant national directors at the end of 2010 and became national directors in February 2016.
