Junior Youth Challenge
Junior Youth Challenge (JYC) is for young people aged 11 – 15.
There are currently around 45 JYC groups throughout Northern Ireland and in various parts of the Republic of Ireland.
Most JYCs meet fortnightly in a home, community centre or church hall. As the young people meet with friends in their own age group, they have opportunity for fun together, to study God’s Word and discuss its relevance to them today. There is some time set aside for praise and worship, prayer times, fun activities, games and of course , food!
The Bible Lessons have been written specifically by Youth Challenge for this age group. As well as the regular groups that meet in each area, there is also an annual Missionary focus event, sports night and a series of JYC weekend camps, which is an opportunity to bring the JYCs together.
If you’re looking for a JYC in your area, or if you or your church would be interested in starting up a JYC, please contact us for more information.
JYC weekends
These weekend camps are not only for members of JYC groups, but are open to all young people aged 11 – 15.
They are held at the CEF camp centres in Kilkeel and Rossnowlagh, in the autumn and late January to February.
At the weekends, young people have an opportunity to live in a Christian environment, with time for Bible studies, discussion groups and many other activities.
Interested? Then contact us, or check our bookings page, for details of any upcoming JYC weekends for your area.
Or if you’re 14-17 years old (must have completed year 10) why not come to Teens weekend?
